Federal Income Tax Bill Prompts Questions About Pre-Paying Property Taxes

What Sonoma County Property Owners Should Know

Property owners who wish to pay the second installment of the 2017-2018 property tax bill before January 1st may do so this month. Payment options are as follows:

PAY ONLINE – To make payments online, go to http://www.sonoma-county.org/tax, and select the link to “Pay or view your property taxes online.” Online payments can be made using a credit card, debit card, or E-Check.Please note that there is a 2.34% transaction fee charged on all credit/debit card payments and $1.50 transaction fee on E-Check payments.

PAY BY TELEPHONE – Credit card, debit card, and E-Check payments are accepted over the telephone.Please note that there is a 2.34% transaction fee charged on all credit/debit card payments and $1.50 transaction fee on E-Check payments. To pay by telephone, call toll-free to 1-888-636-8418.

BY MAIL – Checks should be made out the Sonoma County Tax Collector. Please include the payment stub from the tax bill and mail to:

PAY IN PERSON – Cash, checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks are accepted at 585 Fiscal Drive, Suite 100, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, excluding Sonoma County holidays.

Important notes: Property ownersmay not pre-pay their 2018-2019 property taxes. The 2018-2019 property tax payments cannot be made until the tax bills are generated and mailed in September/October 2018.
