Creative Sonoma and Arts Council Napa Valley are partnering to provide our artists and creatives with links to emergency relief assistance available for those affected by the fires. Thanks go out to the Actors Fund and MusiCares for their previous collection of many of these resources.

The Actors Fund for Arts & Entertainment – serves the arts and entertainment community including emergency financial assistance, affordable housing, health care and insurance counseling. Click on “Services and Programs” and then “Social Services & Financial Assistance.”
Authors League Fund – helps professional writers and dramatists who find themselves in financial need because of medical problems, temporary loss of income, or other misfortune.
CERF+ – serves artists who work in craft disciplines by providing a safety net to support strong and sustainable careers. Core services include emergency relief. Click on “Get Relief.”
California Jazz Foundation – provides emergency financial assistance to jazz musicians and others who have made substantial contributions to the art form.
Jazz Foundation Of America – offers aid to elder jazz and blues musicians in crisis.
Joan Mitchell Foundation – provides emergency grants for painters and sculptors who have suffered physical losses due to a natural disaster.
MusiCares – provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need including emergency financial assistance. Click “Contact MusiCares” or call 1.800.687.4227.
Musicians Foundation – helps professional musicians by providing emergency financial assistance in meeting current living, medical and allied expenses. All professional musicians are eligible to apply.
PEN Writers’ Emergency Fund – funds professional (published or produced) writers in acute, emergency financial crisis.
Sweet Relief Musicians Fund – provides financial assistance to career musicians who are facing illness, disability, or age-related problems.
American Society of Journalists and Authors – helps freelance writers who, because of illness, disability, or a natural disaster are unable to work. Recipients do not need to be members of ASJA.
2-1-1 – call 2-1-1 to be connected with community services in your area, providing services like food banks, clothing closets, shelters, rent assistance, utility assistance and physical and mental health resources.
American Red Cross Sonoma and Napa Chapter – offers information about disaster services, health and safety services, emergency preparation and other programs.
Catholic Charities Santa Rosa – provides emergency food and other services. Click on “Get Help.”
Salvation Army – Napa and Sonoma – offers a wide variety of relief services. This website can locate nearby branches by a zip code search.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul –provides emergency financial assistance, emergency transportation and disaster relief and victim services. This website allows users to search for local councils offering assistance.
United Way Sonoma County – United Way funds the Sonoma County 2-1-1 Services through grants (see above).
County of Sonoma Disaster Relief for Property Loss – If your property suffered or has been destroyed by any of the Sonoma County Fire, our hearts go out out to you. The Assessor’s Office is here to help.
Americans for the Arts – provides links to tools for artists and arts organizations to be prepared on the front end of an emergency.
Performing Arts Readiness Project – a pilot project that focuses on efforts to raise awareness of the value of and priority for planning for emergencies among performing arts organizations.
