Gazette:
I love The Sonoma County Gazette. Every month, there’s news and community goings-on and stuff for seniors. It’s a true gem of a monthly.
But every now and then something appears that’s over the wall.
This month it’s the half-page ad for SMART that’s running on Page 9. I don’t know whether it’s an ad or an informercial, but it’s 100% undiluted propaganda.
And, no, I’m not one of those people carrying around petitions trying to get SMART re-voted. But I’m sure someone who would vote “NO!” if the opportunity were to present itself again (I wasn’t living here when the measure passed).
Proof Is In The Puddin”

In these last few days leading up to the election, I’d like to express my gratitude for the overwhelming support I have received from the community.
Hallo Vesta,
I am writing this piece from the beautiful city of Montpellier in the south of France where newspapers from both the left and the right put out their views fully knowing that their readers have both the education and the common sense to understand them.
Dear Vesta,
I read your Gazette (every word). Your newspaper is outstanding in its coverage and reader participation. My son and his family live in Forestville and always save it for me. I wonder if you would publish this letter in your newspaper. Thank you.
Dear Vesta.
Thank you for the article entitled, “When Thirsty, Drink Water”. Evidently we live in an age in which common sense is so rare that it makes headlines.

Hello HolLynn (Graton columnist) –
I just wanted to clarify something you wrote in your recent column in relation to the Sonoma County ordinance for barking dogs. It was the part that states, “If that doesn’t help, you can call the department again and receive further assistance.” Basically, Animal Control can’t do much more UNLESS you get someone else to complain about the same barking dog.
