Books on Stage at Cloverdale Performing Arts Center
On March 9th at 7pm, Matthew Specktor will read from his recent novel American Dream Machine and will discuss all things Hollywood. Matthew is also the author of the novel That Summertime Sound, as well as a nonfiction book of film criticism. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s, The Paris Review, GQ, Tin House, and numerous other periodicals and anthologies. He is a founding editor of The Los Angeles Review of Books. A former film executive at 20th Century Fox (Fight Club) and Jersey Films (Pulp Fiction, Out of Sight, Erin Brockovich), he is presently adapting American Dream Machine into a cable series for FX network
“Books on Stage” will take place on Thursday, March 9th at 7 p.m. at the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center, 209 N. Cloverdale Blvd. The event will be followed by wine, cheese and conversation with the author at Plank Coffee, just up the street from the theater. There is a $10 suggested donation, but no one turned away for lack of funds.
