Sebastopol Area Senior Center Hires New Executive Director

The Sebastopol Area Senior Center is pleased to welcome its new Executive Director, Linda Civitello, who has more than 25 years’ experience leading non-profit public health and service organizations and a long history of fundraising in the greater Bay Area, from childcare to senior services.
“We are thrilled to have a local Sebastopolian with such a résumé as our new director,” Board Treasurer Barbara Barney said. “We foresee a positive transformation in the future.”
Civitello spent a large portion of her career working for the American Lung Association – later Breathe California, Golden Gate Public Health Partnership in San Francisco. Prior to that, she coordinated the University of California, San Francisco sponsored Senior Health Education Program, which serves 50 senior centers in San Francisco.
She also served as president of the San Francisco Retired Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Committee.
Civitello moved to Sebastopol with her partner Peter Brenner in 2011 and is pleased to be leading the Senior Center.
“I’m very happy to be here, this is a fantastic center for Sebastopol,” she said. “I hope to help expand services for West County’s aging population and find ways to address senior health issues in the future.”
