New Year's Day Family Hike - Ring in the New Year Outside! 

January 1, 2017 - Stewarts of the Coast and Redwoods & California State Parks Present: New Year's Day Family Hikes. First Hikes of the year in YOUR parks! Ring in the New Year Outside! Hikes led by experienced docents. Dress for cold weather. Canceled if heavy rain. 

Armstrong Redwoods SNR - 10am & 1:30pm - Meets at the Visitor Center - 17000 Armstrong Woods Rd, Guerneville, CA 95446

Sonoma Coast SP - 1pm - Meets at Shell Beach - Hwy 1 and Pomo Canyon Trail  All Ages Welcome - For more information, contact Jazzy Dingler via email or phone at (707) 869-9177 x 1#.

Fort Ross State Historic Park - 10:00am-1:30pm Meeting Location: Reef Campground Trailhead (roadside), Fort Ross State Historic Park - Degree of Difficulty: moderate - Minimum Age for Children: 8 - Restrictions: Sorry, no pets permitted. Length of Hike: One-way with carpool return (2 ½ miles); shorter (to FortRoss) option (1 mile) or round-trip (5 miles)

Things to bring: Water, bag lunch, binoculars, cameras, hat, sunscreen,
layered clothing, optional hiking sticks and hiking boots (be prepared for
some possible moisture).

Additional information for participants: Experience our coastal bluffs,
redwood forest, pinnipeds and sandy beaches as we hike our coastal trail
through Fort Ross State Historic Park from south to north. One-way,
round-trip or shorter hike options. After hike optional 2pm interpretive
talk at Fort Ross.
