Boys & Girls Clubs Hires New Vice President of Resource Development

The Boys & Girls of Central Sonoma County, the largest youth service organization of the county, is pleased to welcome Shannon Nichols to the executive leadership team as the vice president of resource development.

Shannon will oversee resource development, marketing and communications efforts of the organization. When asked about the new team member, CEO, Jennifer Weiss said, “I am thrilled to have Shannon join our team. We look forward to raising even more funds in order to change kids’ lives!”

Shannon brings more than 20 years of development experience to the position and has a passion for developing meaningful relationships that meet the needs of social change and direct service organizations and donors.

“I am so impressed with the growth and depth of this organization.  In just eight short years, it has gone from serving 300 members to serving 6000 members a year.  We have the opportunity and challenge to foster equivalent growth of philanthropic support for the kids we serve. I’m passionate about this work because I know the dramatic impact is has on our members, their families, their schools and our communities throughout the county,” said Shannon. “It’s a privilege to work with such talented people and generous supporters.”

Since moving from the east coast to California in 2008, Shannon has served in leadership roles at 10,000 Degrees and California State University, Stanislaus. She lives in Windsor with her husband and two sons who attend Windsor High School.
