State Parks & Operators to Hold Public Meeting on Operations

Meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 5:30-7:00pm at the Sonoma Land Trust office,  822 Fifth Street, Santa Rosa.

California State Parks, Jack London Park Partners, Team Sugarloaf, and Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods welcome and encourage the general public to attend their annual meeting to discuss the operating agreements at Jack London State Historic Park, Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, and Austin Creek State Recreation Area.   Each entity will review its annual report and highlight the accomplishments and challenges of park operations over the last year.  The group will also discuss the future of these State Parks and how new models of park operation are developing.

Closure of these three parks in 2011 was avoided via operating agreements authorized by AB 42, in which these non-profit organizations stepped in to keep the treasured State Park lands and facilities in Sonoma County open to visitors.  The annual public meeting is a required component of each operating agreement, as specified in the authorizing legislation.

Please direct park-specific questions to the appropriate contact below.
