Curtain Call’s Bell, Book, and Candle

Oct 7 - 23 and Nov 4 - 5, 2016 by John Van Druten, Directed by: Michael Tabib at Curtain Call Theater in the Russian River Hall, Monte Rio

This romantic comedy by John Van Druten comes just in time for the fun and frolic of the Halloween Holiday. The New York Times called it an “....impish fantasy.”

Gillian Holroyd is just your average, modern-day, witch, living in a New York apartment with her Siamese familiar, Pyewacket. She practices her magic on an unsuspecting man she desires, especially as it turns out he’s marrying Merle Kittridge, an old poison penpal from Gillian’s college days. But, as a witch, she can only truly fall in love with him if she renounces her secret powers. She is torn between her desire and her prowess. To add to her frustration, complications abound with an aunt who is absent-minded and careless about her own powers, a brother who is too lazy to keep a regular job and wants to expose his powers for money, and a drunken author of a witchcraft best-seller who hopes to exploit it all for a second book.

Curtain Call Theatre at the Russian River’s presentation has assembled a cast of five seasoned actors who will enchant you and take you on a fun filled journey.
