Norman Solomon coming to Guerneville May 1
On May 1st, between 6 and 8 pm, Congressional candidate Norman Solomon will appear at the Russian River Senior Center at 15010 Armstrong Woods Rd.
All are welcome, but since space is limited we would appreciate an RSVP by April 29th...please email pat4sonoma@gmail.com. Please leave your name, contact number or email address, and the number of seat reservations requested. Those who reserve will be guaranteed a place if we have to turn people away at the door due to limited seating.
Norman will speak about his views and campaign, and ample time will be devoted to responding to questions. He will address his views on federal programs such as Social Security and Medicare, war policies, federal law concerning environmental issues, concerns about the economy, energy policy, and social justice issues.
Norman has been spending most of his long career fighting for social justice and against war and nuclear energy. He has worked to educate people about the problems of global warming and need for clean alternative energy sources. He has refused corporate PAC money for the funding of his campaign. (He welcomes donations of any size from individual citizens.)
About education, Norman states, “We’re being depleted of resources for state and local government services. We need to redefine what national security is. It’s not national security to have our schools crumbling.” Norman also supports single-payer health insurance for all.
And finally, “In Washington, job one should be creating jobs. And that won’t happen by continuing to give tax cuts to the wealthy while imposing benefit cuts on the rest of us.”
