There's a LOT going on this Spring!
Howdy folks. Sorry for the delayed column; sometimes life has a way of getting in the way. Anywho, it seems that Persephone has bid farewell to her sleep a bit early this year; it's hard to believe Spring is right around the corner. And with Spring comes a lot of planning and preparation for the coming Summer Season. There's quite a bit going on this month, so be sure to mark your calendars!
St. Patrick's Day Eve Fundraiser. On Friday, March 16th, the Russian River Chamber is hosting a fundraiser. Join us at Chef Patrick's at 6pm for a delicious pre-St. Patrick's Day meal (no, not corned beef!) of beef rib eye steak, chicken or vegetarian stuffed ravioli. There will also be a Limerick contest and raffle. Tickets are $35 and are available at the Chamber Office. 707-869-9000 www.russianriver.com
Sister's Bingo. "The Hills Are Alive with the Sounds of BINGO!!!" This month's bingo recipient is the 8th Grade Graduation fund for Guerneville School. Did you know that you can buy tickets for bingo instead of standing outside in line for an hour? Yup. Go to www.rrsisters.org to check it out. Otherwise, line-up starts at about 5:30pm, doors open at 6:00pm, Game starts at 7:00pm and goes to about 9:30-10:00pm. Cards are $15 for One or $20 for TWO (what a deal!). Town Clean-Up. The Chamber of Commerce is at it again! Last month's clean up yielded 19 bags of garbage, collected by the 26 volunteers, headed by Ms. Kayte Guglielmino. Join us again on Saturday, March 24, 11:00am at the plaza. This is a town-wide clean-up, including the bridge and creek beds.

Russian River Community Trust Fund now accepting applications.
FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR RUSSIAN RIVER COMMUNITY PROJECTS GRANT APPLICATIONS DUE MAY 15 . The Russian River Community Trust Fund of Community Foundation Sonoma County is accepting applications from non-profit organizations for projects serving communities along the western end of the Russian River. This includes all Russian River communities from Forestville west to the ocean (Forestville, Rio Nido, Guerneville, Monte Rio, Rio Vista, Duncan's Mills, Jenner).The Trust primarily awards grants for capital projects, equipment purchases or projects of a one-time nature. Grant requests may be for up to a maximum of $5,000, but the Trust has very limited funds to distribute at this time and, given the anticipated volume of requests, most grants will likely be in the $1,000-$3,000 range.
