Peering outside of my cosy cyber-hut, I am very happy to see the stately redwoods outlined in rain! It was exhilarating to see actual water in Austin Creek after a few good downpours.

Writing this inside of my airy cyber-hut on a warm late summer’s day. The large redwoods outside of my windows are quite still and as we approach the Autumnal Equinox,we are reminded of the fleeting nature of warm weather! I for one am storing the warmth in my bones for the hopefully upcoming rainy days. of winter.

I was awoken by the pitter patter of rain drops in the early morning! This sort of untimely rain has cleared the dust off of the large redwoods outside of my airy cyber hut and heralds Summer’s official beginning on the Solstice!

The Odyssey - Allison Higginbotham, Ean Maya The Odyssey at Cloverdale Performing Arts Center
March 13, 2016
If you are looking for an adventure in theater that takes you to places both exotic and unexpected, look no further than The Odyssey at the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center. Translating Homer's epic poem, a work of 24 books (written in dactylic hexameter, no less) to a 90 minute stage production would seem like a daunting endeavor, but Yave Guzman's multimedia version is more than equal to the task.

The lovely redwoods outside of my cosy cyber-hut are bobbling gently in the breezy rain. After a very dry and warm start to February, we are currently receiving a generous downpour and do hope that this on/off pattern continues.

eering out of the windows of my cosy cyber-hut, I see rain! We are in the midst of, according to various media, “an atmospheric river” of rain! Oh boy, we need it, just not all at once. That said, pray for Tinkerbell to keep the power on, especially as I write this!

With New Year’s Day around the corner, I am gratified by the recent rains! The majestic redwoods outside of my cosy cyber-hut have been cleansed and are basking today in the sunlight! Although we are certainly not out of this dreadful drought, we may be in for a ‘regular’ rainy season.

After receiving a wonderful one inch plus rain, the large redwoods outside of my cosy cyber-hut are outlined in a clear and golden light. As we approach the annual holiday season, beginning with Thanksgiving, we definitely give thanks for being able to live here in our beautiful and special corner of the world. We do have a shared responsibility to maintain and even better our natural world.

Blue sky is now appearing after a refreshingly damp morning. As I write this in my cosy cyber-hut, the redwoods and madrones appear green and golden.

We certainly need a resumption of 'normal' rainfall -- be extra careful if lighting your fireplace or woodstove as it is still exceptionally dry.

It is a warm day here in the redwoods, and I have several windows open in my airy cyber-hut. The recent over 1" of rain was welcome and reminiscent of 'regular' precipitation!  We certainly have to be concerned as we are reminded of our extremely dry conditions by the dreadful Lake County and Butte fires!  Our hearts go out to those who lost their homes and  thanks to the many firefighters who quickly assembled to help put down the conflagrations!

As I write this towards the end of August, the large redwoods outside of my airy cyber-hut are outlined by lovely sunshine. The dreadful heat and fire-polluted air of recent days has gone and we are once again breathing the usual fresh air of Cazadero! We of course must stay vigilant and keep our properties free of fallen brush, clear the roofs and be extra careful in using spark-causing equipment in this very dry time of the year.
