Or maybe you parked your car in the grocery store parking lot, went shopping, and when you came out you saw some fluid underneath your car. Is that from your car, or was it there before you parked? What should you do? Just ignore it if it drives ok? Cross your fingers and hope it’s not from your car? Call your best friend? Visit your trusted repair shop?

Sonoma County Roads Potholes Fixing Sonoma County Roads Remains Elusive
November 30, 2012

By Craig S. Harrison, SOSroads

About 80 people attended the Road Summit sponsored by Save Our Sonoma Roads (SOSroads) on the future of county road funding.  They asked questions of county supervisors Shirlee Zane and David Rabbitt and Director of Public Works Phil Demery about the 1,180 miles of count roads that are not part of the primary road system.  There are no funds to preserve the pavement on these roads, and the road department can only fill pot holes by shoveling asphalt onto the surface while the road base deteriorates year after year.

Small Bike Shops of Sonoma County Tour de Small Bike Shops
November 28, 2012
Bicycling is a way of life for many of us. Our bikes are reflections of who we are -- or perhaps who we want to be! We take pride in our rides, and we join communities of 'believers' who share our affinity for these mechanical marvels, whether they are ultra-lightweight race-proven thoroughbreds, all-terrain cross or mountain bikes, street-smart 'fixies', classic retro splendiforous cruisers, or elegant touring machines. It may not be surprising to learn that numerous small bike shops are popping up around Sonoma County, operated by people who have the love for the travel mode, and want to share that love with others.

Kate on Cars - Automotive Advice Kate on Cars December 2012 - Winterizing Your Vehicle
November 28, 2012
by Kate Jonasse

Winterizing your vehicle is important for safety, economy and reliability. Last year I wrote about some common winterization items. The biggies from last year's article include:

1. Make sure you can see out of your windows. Make sure your wipers are in good condition and don't streak or squeak. Consider applying a water repellant like Rainex to the windshield.

2. Rain makes it harder to stop quickly. Make sure tires and brakes are in tip-top condition.

3. It's got to start for you to get from Point A to Point B. You'll probably want your car to start – have your battery checked, weak ones don't like cold weather.
