 The Village Inn has always been a favorite getaway for many. It is the neighborhood jewel of Monte Rio. The Inn houses the restaurant, bar and 4 upper level guest rooms.

The lodge building has 6 guest rooms with private balconies and gorgeous panoramic river views. Each room boasts quality amenities with exceptionally comfortable beds and top quality linens. The owner Mark Belhumeur and Innkeeper Cathy LaPlante make certain your stay is a happy one. Executive Chef John Crespo specializes in classic French cuisine. Upon sampling many of his gastronomic specialties, I have to say, this chef has golden hands. The duck is succulent, the pork chops burst with flavor, the panko crusted calamari steaks are my favorite and the classic chicken marsala is substantial, moist and like no other when paired with a wild basmati rice. The portions are very generous, there is no skimping here. Not to forget Sous Chef  Amanda Jacobs for her award winning deserts. She won awards for her cheesecake and bread pudding, both mouth watering and delectable. The restaurant boasts an award winning wine list receiving accolades and awards from Wine Spectator and the Sonoma Winegrape Association just to mention a few.

There are several dining options available to guests. You can dine in the main diningroom, cozy up to the bar and dine at the bar or take a table in the bar room with the roaring fireplace and beautiful paintings. The outdoor dining deck weather permitting is magical to say the least. Facing the riverbank lawn, overlooking the river it is breathtaking. The grounds are gorgeous and beautifully maintained by an on-site gardener named Cynthia. The Village Inn celebrates most holidays with a prefixed dinner menu. Valentine’s Day is a favorite along with Mother’s Day and the 4th of July. The proprietors decorate each table and go all out to make certain your experience is a happy one. Be sure to make your reservations in advance since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Your sweetie will be happy you did.

Celebrations including weddings, anniversaries and birthdays can be accomodated in the main dining room or for larger parties in the banquet facilities located downstairs overlooking a gazebo and second diningdeck. Stop in on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 5:00pm and 6:30pm for locals night at $19.00 per person for a four course meal. The Village Inn and Restaurant is a local river gem.
